Why is diversity in nursing important

The medical community is, in short, lacking in diversity. More diversity means better quality care and trust from patients and it doesn’t only incorporate the race but also culture. In other words the more a patient is represented and understood, the better they can be treated. People will be able to learn from each which will make problem solving so much easier while bringing in creativity which can help improve the structure of the medical administration. Healthcares with no diversity tend to have poor health outcomes and irregular patients. Representation is really important when it comes to gaining the trust of patients and it goes far beyond language and race but it’s also about putting yourself in the patient's shoes and understanding their mindset no matter their religion, race, sexality, culture, gender and beliefs. A good caregiver should care more about the wellbeing of their patient than about the money they are going to make and sadly there are a lot of times when this is not the case. If you can't do a job properly just don’t do it at all. It’s not only important for the patients but also for the coworkers, in other words the more comfortable and open the workplace is and the longer the workers are most likely to stay and give better service. Of course all these problems and complaints about diversity can’t be solved overnight It requires an initiative devoted to expanding cultural awareness and incorporation. It requires workers who will set aside the effort to find out about one another. It implies being willing to distinguish and address individuals. predispositions. It also implies strongly freeing ourselves up to inconvenience for everyone's benefit for our patients and I believe that if we all work together and fight the same way we’ve been protesting for our rights for the past few years we should be able to get fantastic results.
