Statistics

Athenahealth reported that 60% of physicians under 35 are female. However, when it come to non-white doctors the case is different. While black Americans make 13% of the U.S. population, they make up only 4% of the active physician workforce and with the black female doctors represent only 2% of physicians it is obvious now that Our society doesn't encourage women in general to be doctors.we should not only seek justice for or black female doctors but also for the black patients out there. For instance according to the Center for disease control and prevention and to some studies Black women have the highest maternal mortality rates and are three times more likely to die while pregnant or after a short time of pregnancy compared to white women they also have a 20 percent higher cancer death rate.People of color are three times more likely to die of asthma and a 25 percent higher cancer death rate than white people. They usually develop chronic disease and overall have shorter life expectancies compared to white people.
