Studies and experts did show that black providers are important to reduce black health disparities. It has also proposes that patient-supplier racial and sex concordance can have numerous advantages, for instance if a black female patient was to receive care from a black female doctor then she will tend to be more comfortable and have more trust of the situation without really questioning or worrying about bad intentions. I don’t know about you but I totally agree with these studies and we can see that we desperately need more black doctors . One of the problems that can happen due the lack of black providers would be black patients not being satisfied, not wanting to get service because they can’t seem to find trustworthy doctors or can’t seem to find someone that looks like them who they believe they can’t interface with. Many african american feel that way because when they tend to get services from other races they often get judged or tend to feel unheard which can be really frustrating especially when it comes to your health.
